Basic Information on e-Visa

An e-Visa is a type of electronic authorization document issued by the competent Kenyan authorities to eligible foreign nationals, providing permission to travel and enter Kenya.

e-Visa, ETA - terminology and definition
E-Visa means electronic visa - it is an acronym of general use. An e-Visa means that no sticker is required in your passport, your travel authorization is stored electronically. What does this look like in practice? Upon arrival in Kenya, all you need to do is present your passport and confirmation of your approved e-Visa to get your entry stamped - that's it.

You also need to remember that your travel permit must be printed in color before you leave, otherwise you may not be allowed to board the plane. You should also carry a copy of your e-Visa with you to show on arrival.

Information on travel medical insurance
If you plan to travel abroad, even for a day trip, you should buy the best travel insurance you can afford before you leave. Your travel insurance should include coverage in case you lose your health, life or acquire a disability, which will help you avoid large expenses such as hospitalization or general medical treatment outside of your country. 

We recommend that you purchase additional sickness and accident (NW) insurance. It is advisable to extend your policy to cover the cost of medical transportation to your home country. It does not cost much and can be very useful. If you travel by car, consider additional motor insurance - autocasco (AC) and Assistance (in addition to the mandatory third party liability).

All travelers are advised to purchase health and/or travel insurance before leaving for Kenya.

Attachment Guidelines

The following information is intended to help you successfully add the required attachments to your application. 

You may attach files after completing the initial application form. Once you have uploaded all required attachments, you must confirm that the data entered is correct and proceed with payment. You cannot proceed to the next step of the application process until you have attached all mandatory files or selected the "attach later" option. 

Your photo must clearly show your facial features - your entire head from the top of your chin to the hairline or top of your head and the top of your shoulders. The face must be in the center of the photo.

Photo requirements:

   passport-type photograph

   taken in the last six months

   full face looking at the camera

   well illuminated

   color

   sharp focus, not blurred

   no flash reflection (especially when you wear glasses)

   clear background with no shadows

   neutral facial expression with both eyes open (eyes fully visible, no sunglasses)

   no hat or head covering that obscures the hair or hairline unless worn daily for a religious purpose

   all formats accepted

   no size limits

Information on the visa obtaining procedure - application processing time, possible further processing, suspending the application and delivery option.
Application processing time: Once the application is submitted with the complete information, it will be processed within the shortest possible time. The unit processing time depends on the individual application and many other factors. The assurance of process service is four working days. It means that e-Visa application is usually processed within four working days after receiving the completed application and full e-Visa fee. Most of the application is processed within two working days. Note: extended processing time may occur in certain circumstances. In some cases, Russian Immigration Department may require additional information and documents to upload. If necessary, our consultant will contact you via email. You will be advised by email if your application requires additional processing. In that case, you may be asked to attach other supplementary documents. In difficult cases processing may even last for 14-30 days. Suspending the application: When the departure date provided by the customer in the form is too far to fit within the visa validity period (ability of using the visa to enter the country), we reserve the right to suspend the visa application processing until the first possible available date of issue, so that the visa is valid when entering the country. This procedure applies only to extremely distant departure dates (approximately 30 days and above from the date of submission of the application) and aims to protect the applicant against a situation in which the visa's validity may expire on the date close to entering the country. Delivery option: a visa application result is sent directly to your designated email address given in your application form. When application is approved – Approval Letter, when application is refused – Refusal note is sent via email. The service is considered fully completed when the result of the visa application is issued by the competent authority. The visa result is sent to the client electronically as soon as possible after the result is issued. Service and fee: 49 EUR - the application shall be processed* within 4 business days. *reviewed, possibly corrected and submitted to the government (does not include the waiting time for a client response)
